Virginia Tech announces Center for PPE

Virginia Tech as approved a new college-level Center for Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. The Center’s Director, Prof. Michael Moehler, writes that “The Center will conduct research in central areas across the field of PPE and, more generally, promote interdisciplinary research in the humanities and social sciences.” More information is available HERE.

Call for Session Proposals: Pacific APA

The PPE Society welcomes session proposals for the Pacific  Division APA Meeting, which will take place from 3/31/2021 to 4/4/2021 at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower in Portland, Oregon.

We are currently accepting two-speaker proposals, and preference will be given to proposals with one non-philosopher. Please include titles and abstracts, as well as a chair for your session. To make a submission, complete our proposal submission form HERE.

For full consideration, please submit by October 1, 2020.

In Memorium: Jerry Gaus (1952-2020)

The PPE Society was saddened to learn that Jerry Gaus passed away suddenly on August 19, 2020.
Jerry was a towering force in  political philosophy and a founding member of the PPE Society. We will deeply miss him, but we are grateful for the impressive and insightful body of work he leaves behind.

2021 PPE Society Annual Meeting

Concerned that March 2021 might not be a good time for an in-person PPE Society Conference, we have moved our conference to October 21-23, 2021. Our plan, going forward, is to the the PPE Society Annual Meeting in the Fall each year, either late October, as this coming year, or early November. A call for proposals will be announced soon.
